Rule number 3, wear your heart on your cheek. But never on your sleeve, unless you wanna taste defeat.

Uber long blog post title is long! Hello Bloggerettes! I've been throughly enjoying some Marina and the Diamonds, especially How to be a Heartbreaker. Fun mani plus equally fun song equals a FUN post! I obviously need some sleep, lol. Today's post features my favorite indie polish brand, Hare. Asteroid Turf is a murky almost neon green jelly filled with medium magenta hex glitter.

Asteroid Turf was an easy as pie glitter filled jelly to apply. Hey, that rhymed! Can you see all the hidden hexes? Beautiful! Hare polish is available on Etsy for $10 and at Llarowe for $11. I believe Asteroid Turf may have been discontinued, but they just came out with some new beautiful polishes. What do you think of this polish?

Thanks for looking!

Splattered Lizard

Remember my tape mani I did with a group of ladies? Well today we're all doing 'Splatterday', a series of splatter manis! I love doing a group project because you get to see so many looks with the same basic concept.

My completed splatter mani.

Here's a fun fact, I am absolutely terrified of lizards. All shapes, sizes, breeds...terrified. I have absolutely no idea why either, lol. So when the new OPI Spiderman collection came out and I saw Just Spotted the Lizard, the Chanel Peridot dupe, I was like crap. HAHA! It really is a beautiful color and has easily made its way into my top 5 favorite polishes to date but come on OPI....change the name for little ol' me, lol. I started my mani off with CND Stickey, 3 coats of polish with the terrifying name, and a coat of Seche Vite. I did a top coat because this was my first splatter mani ever and I knew I was bound to mess it up.

The last shot is my nails underwater to show off that sweet gold, blue, green duochome. Amazing, right!?! Almost makes up for that God awful name!
Polish with terrifying name, Pink Friday, Strawberry Fields, Flying Dragon. Tools for a pretty sweet splatter.

I am so so so in love with my splatter! After having a heck of a time trying to make a 'pretty splatter' I finally found the perfect system for me. I used a normal straw you get in a pack at the grocery store and bent up the end. Then I got a piece of cardboard and did a few drops of polish on there and brushed some on my straw. This was the only way I had any splatter come off my straw. Trust me I did a few other ways before I found my solution. Now I am so excited to show off the other girls looks! Here's our InLinks.

Alice in Neonland

Hey Bloggerettes! I've been taking a mini vacation and finally taking some time for little things like being outside and painting my nails. Tonight I have a fun look that's been stirring in my mind since this morning. I wanted an Alice in Wonderland meets Betsey Johnson kind of look and came up with Alice in Neonland. With the help of my handy dandy dotting tools I completed this look within an American Dad episode, lol.

In order of nail apperance: Barry M Pure Turquoise(base 2 coats), Dollish Polish We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat(1 coat), Konad White(large dotting tool for rose base), Zoya Luna(glitter for roses), Orly Purple Crush(small dotting tool for rose outline), and Zoya Apple(small dotting tool for leaves). Haha, note the teeth marks on my Konad polish. Anyone else have a hard time trying to open those suckers?

Barry M Pure Turquoise reminds me of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pool Party.
Dollish Polish We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat. I wish you could see how fantastic this really is!
The finished look with a nice thick coat of Seche Vite.
I couldn't leave well enough alone and added a coat of Essie Matte About You. It still looks cool but I think I like this look better shiny.
I realized my mani matched my favorite cosmetic brand, Sugarpill's, new stickers! Random excitement for the win!

This mani was so much fun to do and come up with. My last post reminded me how much I love doing random nail art and such but I never have the time to play around. Hopefully I can keep up with this! What do you think of this look?

Turning Bubble Tea into Pea Soup!

Ah, Sunday...you come and go so fast! Well bloggerettes, I turned Bubble Tea into pea soup this weekend. Pretty and Polished's Bubble Tea that is! Bubble Tea is a light murky green with medium black hexagon glitter and micro white glitter. But how did I turn it into icky pea soup? With Sinful Colors Innocent, a beautiful creme chartreuse, as underwear! It's a very odd combo and in hindsight I wish I chose a different underwear, lol.

 Pea Soup!

Innocent was 2 coats and Bubble Tea was another 2 coats with Gelous and Seche Vite on top. For me Bubble Tea was a bit hungry but Gelous really took care of that! Bubble Tea retails over at Pretty and Polished for $4.50 for a mini bottle and $8 for a full size bottle. For fun I thought I'd show a few bottle shots!

Midnight Rider, Party on my Yacht, Bubble Tea, and PnP business card!
Look at all that gorgeousness!

I can't wait to place my next order with Pretty and Polished!!

Embroidered Emerald

Hey bloggerettes! I was lucky enough to pick up a bottle of Misa Embroidered Emerald and my goodness is it amazing! Embroidered Emerald is a burgundy based polish with green shimmer. I'll let the pictures do the talking because this polish is just too great to explain.

She's lovely on her own but I decided I wanted more of a green flash. So I did a layer of Pure Ice Heartbreaker, a green shimmer in a green base and Finger Paints Flecked, a green flakie in a clear base.

Misa Embroidered Emerald is currently hard to find, however, I found mine through a blog sale. I'm sorry to post such a beautiful color without a way to purchase it but I will keep my eyes peeled for an option.

I'm so excited to say this was my 100th post! I am so proud of my little blog and I am so happy to have followers that check out my blog from time to time. Thank you all for making this possible!!

Of Cabbages and Kings!

I recently acquired OPI I Mainely Eat Lobster for a reasonable price. When I purchased it I thought it was a lovely coral with gold sparkle. But when I applied it it appeared more neon orange, a color match to carrots! It was both grotesque and pretty so I didn't want to take it off just yet. So I decided to apply some Essence Edward, a square green glitter with small holo glitter, a match to lettuce. BUT that wasn't enough so a funky french with OPI Ink was added matching red cabbage. And henceforth my mani became a salad of sorts, lol.
First, here's the completed mani!

 2 coats Essence Edward
I wish I Mainely Eat Lobster on my nails look more like it does in the bottle but it's still pretty. Just not by itself! What do you think? Too much? Needs MOAR!lol

Hidden Treasure

Most know Sally Hansen previously released Hidden Treasure as a gorgeous flakie in their Complete Salon Manicure line that has since been duped by many. I guess in an appeal to confuse people still looking for the original they decided to rerelease it. But here's the catch, instead of a flakie you will now find a pink/green/lavender duochrome. The new Hidden Treasure is pretty under bright light and sunlight but without it it looks like a dull frosty white. The formula was awful, too thin and took forever to dry. I had bubbles and smudges after an hour of dry time. This is three coats with no 'underwear'.

This was the hardest polish to photograph, my goodness! I hope you don't mind my contrasting a bit to show off the duochrome and little sparkles. I can honestly say I hate this polish, it was not a necessary part of my collection. The Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure line retails for $7.99 at Walgreens.

I mean my, my, my, my you're like pelican fly!

I was fortunate enough to pick up the OPI Nicki Minaj collection a couple weeks back. I think this is the first full collection of anything that I knew I NEEDED to have! It's made up of three cremes Pink Friday a baby pink, Fly a dark dusty teal, and Did It On 'Em a chartreuse yellow/green. Also 2 glitters Metallic 4 Life a black jelly with silver big hex glitter and small square glitter, and Save Me a blue and holographic bar glitter with small silver glitter in a clear base. And to wrap it up Super Bass, a bright magenta shatter. Save Me is the whole reason this collection stood out for me. It truly is lovely. I couldn't wait to use them but didn't want to do skittles. So I decided to do a water marble with the three cremes, a layer of Save Me, then a layer of Super Bass, and to finish it off an accent finger in Metallic 4 Life.

Pink Friday, Fly, Did It On 'Em
Save Me, Metallic 4 Life, Super Bass

It was so hard trying to get a good picture of this mani. I was so proud of it! I really enjoyed this collection and Nicki Minaj is my guilty pleasure. I purchased my set online via a Facebook friend so I'm not sure if this collection is currently at Ulta. But I suggest getting it asap bloggerettes!

My sleepy babies Cletus and Zombri!

Duped

Zoya did some amazing flash promos for the month of December and I was one of the many who could not catch a break, lol. Though I love the brand I typically don't purchase from their site unless they have an amazing deal. One of my biggest lemmings is Ivanka, a beautiful green sparkle. I decided to play around with my stash to see if I could either layer or franken a dupe. After some practice I found the perfect layering combo! One layer of OPI Gargantuan Green Grape Matte with two layers of Orly Halley's Commit. To make this even more obnoxious, lol, I added a layer of Essie Shine of the Times.

This combo was very bright because of GGG being a base while Halley's Commit brought the sparkle. I think this combo was a great way to end December 2011. I hope everyone isn't too hungover today. I was way to sick from my flu to do anything more than take my cold medicine and eat soup. More napping is definitely in my future, lol.
