How Much is that Doggie on the Accent Nail?

Hey, hey Bloggerettes! It has been a very long, hot minute since my last post and I apologize. However, I'm currently watching Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl IX and felt like it was time to post my Zombri nails! Zombri of course is my baby girl Boston Terrier. My nail art abilities are seriously sub par but I just had to do these!

Grey-t to be Here and Shine of the Times.
Grey-t to be Here, Shine of the Times, and Make a Spectacle.

I began with CND Stickey, 2 coats of Essence Grey-t to be Here, 1 coat of Essie Shine of the Times, 1 coat of China Glaze Make a Spectacle, followed by a thick coat of Seche Vite. Once dry I began my Zombri outline with a white base, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Then I took a short striper brush and an opaque black, Revlon Stiletto, and outlined her face, her nose, and whiskers. Then brown for her eyes and some pink for her ears and 1 more coat of Seche Vite to seal her in! It's funny, my demo nail came out more like Zombri while on my acutal nail looks more like Bronson.

See! But if you don't remember what Bronson looks like let me remind you...
Here he is after having couch for dessert!

What do you think of my totally derp representation of my pup? Thanks for looking!

Rainbow Fields

Bloggerettes, it's time for Holo Hump Day, another group mani. I used a new pair of earrings I bought on Etsy for inspiration. My base coat is 3 coats of Nic Stick's Rainbows End, a gold holo. Next I taped my triangles then applied a layer of Orly Fancy Fucshia, then 1 coat of China Glaze Strawberry Fields. Lastly for my triangle border LA Colors Blue Glitter. Rainbows End was incredibly difficult to work with because of the shoddy brush. You can see, especially on my pinkie, the dragging.

3 coats Rainbows End, no top coat.

After applying Fancy Fuchsia and Strawberry Fields.

The last picture is the completed mani with the earrings from Etsy. They aren't an exact match to the earrings but I am still happy with the end result. Don't forget to check out the other ladies Holo Hump Day manis!

Stone Cold Saved

Hey there Bloggerettes! Today I bring to you a combination of China Glaze Stone Cold and OPI Save Me. Both polishes are on my top favorite polish list so it made perfect sense for them to join forces. Epic things happened, lol. I started off with 2 coats of Stone Cold followed by 2 coats of Save Me. I did a thick coat of Seche Vite to tame the hairy glitter in Save Me.

Look at all that glorious sparkle! But I wasn't entirely satisfied, so I added a coat of Essie Matte About You.

There we go, much better! What do you think of this look? I think the matte really brought out the awesome of Save Me. Such a magical glitter.

I haven't posted anything Bronson lately so here's a little update. He is now 6 months old and going through a serial teething phase. Today he chewed my very expensive glasses. :( But damn it he's so cute! Le sigh. Here's evidence of the cuteness!

Ruby Pumps, White Veil

Sounds like a pretty hot wedding, eh? Today's mani is actually from a bit back. The boyfran asked me to sport red and white for his favorite hockey team, the Washington Capitals, during game 6 against the New York Rangers. I am in no way into any sports but I was happy to join in to support him. They won that game, he says due to my good luck mani, lol. Whatever! I did 1 even coat of Maybelline Racy Romance, 2 coats China Glaze Ruby Pumps, 1 coat of Sally Hansen White Veil, and a thick coat of Seche Vite.
This mani was gorgeous! Ruby Pumps is so vibrant and shiny. I can't believe it was my first time using it. The boyfran will tell you because I didn't do any more good luck manis the Caps lost the playoffs. IIIIII don't think so, lol!

Splattered Lizard

Remember my tape mani I did with a group of ladies? Well today we're all doing 'Splatterday', a series of splatter manis! I love doing a group project because you get to see so many looks with the same basic concept.

My completed splatter mani.

Here's a fun fact, I am absolutely terrified of lizards. All shapes, sizes, breeds...terrified. I have absolutely no idea why either, lol. So when the new OPI Spiderman collection came out and I saw Just Spotted the Lizard, the Chanel Peridot dupe, I was like crap. HAHA! It really is a beautiful color and has easily made its way into my top 5 favorite polishes to date but come on OPI....change the name for little ol' me, lol. I started my mani off with CND Stickey, 3 coats of polish with the terrifying name, and a coat of Seche Vite. I did a top coat because this was my first splatter mani ever and I knew I was bound to mess it up.

The last shot is my nails underwater to show off that sweet gold, blue, green duochome. Amazing, right!?! Almost makes up for that God awful name!
Polish with terrifying name, Pink Friday, Strawberry Fields, Flying Dragon. Tools for a pretty sweet splatter.

I am so so so in love with my splatter! After having a heck of a time trying to make a 'pretty splatter' I finally found the perfect system for me. I used a normal straw you get in a pack at the grocery store and bent up the end. Then I got a piece of cardboard and did a few drops of polish on there and brushed some on my straw. This was the only way I had any splatter come off my straw. Trust me I did a few other ways before I found my solution. Now I am so excited to show off the other girls looks! Here's our InLinks.

Leopard Sugarplum Yum

Hello Bloggerettes! I was lucky enough to purchase OPI Sugarplum Yum and Sugarplum Yum Glitter from Rachel over at Cherryglamgirl. Sugarplum Yum is a dusty pale purple duochrome that shifts pink to gold. The glitter is a micro mix of medium purple and holo. For this look I decided against using underwear and did 3 coats to make it opaque.

For the glitter I wasn't interested in just doing a layer and be done with it. It's been awhile since I've used my Konads so I busted out my favorite plate M57. I wanted a delicate print so to stamp I used China Glaze Avalanche, a light chrome purple. I chose the leopard spots and for the insides I used Sugarplum Yum Glitter with the small end of a dotting tool.

My pictures don't do this mani justice! It was lovely, delicate, and just what I was going for. Sugarplum Yum and Glitter are both HTF polishes but keep an eye out of eBay and blog sales! I just found this listing on eBay. What do you think?

Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo

Today I bring to you Sinful Colors Cinderella, part of the new 2012 basic collection. She's a bright baby blue creme with gold and baby pink sparkle. I love the color, however, I found the formula to be a bit thin.

After a couple days of wear I wasn't ready to take it off. So I started off with some sponging with Sinful Colors Easy Going (a baby pink) and Klean Colors Gorgeous Surprise (a purple sparkle).

It was very cute and delicate, reminding me of Easter. But I still wanted to play around so I added some crackle with China Glaze Cracked Concrete. On my ring finger I wanted to try the new 'rimming' technique and used a bright navy blue from Kiss Nail Art polishes.

I wish I had a nice opaque white, I think that would have been better for the rimming. Cinderella is getting pretty popular and for now it is part of the basic collection at Walgreens for $1.99.

I've been really into the indie polish craze going on right now. On Etsy I've picked up polishes from Pretty and Polished and Dollish Polish(which is currently closed). My PnP package came in today and I'm still waiting on my DP order. The polishes are so beautiful and I can't wait to show you!!

For now here's Zombri and I modeling some Gross Out!

Murmaider

I was recently inspired by this post from the lovely Amy from I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous. It reminded me of a pretty rocking mermaids tail. I had 2 out of 3 polishes and a dupe of $OPI Teal We Meet Again so I thought I'd give it a go.
Ulta Dance Teal Dawn 2 coats
China Glaze Broken Hearted
Barielle Buddah-ful 1 thin coat
I can't express how much I loved this look! It makes me want to try other layering looks with my abundance of crackles that get neglected. Anywho, I'm slowly catching up on posting but there's still a lot of old looks I'm looking forward to showing off. I can't wait for you to see!

It's Alive!!!!

Happy Halloween Blogerettes! I hope everyone had a pleasant and spooky weekend! I come baring most excellent news...we were officially approved for our apartment today. Squee, I cannot wait to finally have much needed space to do more nails, make up, reviews, and the like. Now, back to business. I told myself for the longest time that I would not even think about purchasing China Glaze It's Alive because I was so in love with Zombie Zest from last years Halloween collection. But nail polish is addicting and that beautiful murky glitter green was eventually a part of my collection. It's Alive is easily a part of my top ten favorite nail polishes of all time. It isn't a hungry glitter and once top coat is applied the sparkle is so intense. To avoid doing more than two coats, therefor not making removal an epic pain, I decided to layer it over Color Club Nouveau Vintage. N.V. is a beautiful green/brown/bronze duochrome.
Flash to show off the bronze deliciousness with a hint of green. 2 coats Nouveau Vintage.
Show off more of the green undertones.
Two coats of It's Alive over Nouveau Vintage.
So much green love! On Saturday night my boyfrann and I went to a Halloween party. He dressed as John Goodman's character in The Big Lebowski and at the last minute I decided to do a quickie sugar skull look. Here's a quick cell phone shot of my make up!
Nothing too spectacular. All makeup is Sugarpill and all the black liner is Inglot gel liner in 77. Check out my uber hot Betsey Johnson necklace! Now I think I will nap on this fine Halloweenie day! Stay safe out there!
