Violet Lightening

Hello Bloggerettes! It's been a dreary rainy day here in Florida and a migraine has been my only friend today. So I decided to get my hair done. Today was just a cut and style but tomorrow will be COLOR! I'm excited to have someone else work on coloring my hair instead of me. There's nothing worse then staining your nails and face various shades of hair dye when you have a beauty blog, haha.

Anywho, today's look features a funky french using Color Club Ultra Violet, a neon purple with green/blue shimmer, and Sally Hansen Lightening, a yellow creme. This is also the beginning of a new nail shape for me. I have really been loving the claw like shape often seen on Lady Gaga and Rihanna so I'm slowly working into that transition.

2 coats of Lightening, 1 coat Seche Vite.
Don't mind my janky thumb, lol.

I started off with 1 coat of Duri Rejuvacote, 2 coats Lightening, 1 coat of Seche Vite. Once dry I applied tape to achieve my pointed funky french, followed by 2 coats of Ultra Violet, and 1 last coat of Seche Vite. I originally wanted to try a triangle tribal design but failed hard on my thumb and did my best to fix it without removing polish. You win some you lose some and this mani was pretty fun on it's own!

Also, check out my new ring in the last picture! Isn't it beautiful? I found this beauty down in one of my off the wall shops in St.Augustine and instantly fell in love. She's a drusy quartz crystal and she's all mine! They say drusy crystals dissipate negative thoughts and emotions which is always a plus. As always I wish there was a polish to match! Sigh...lacquer head problems.

Thanks for looking!

Shiny Bikini Time

Hello, hello, hello Bloggerettes! I've had a very busy August with work, my birthday, and my boyfrans birthday. The boyfran and I shared an amazing vacation with the pups, food, and a lot of alcohol. We also did a lot of shopping, so I picked up some new make up and polish. Gifts were some Adventure Time toys, Lollipop Chainsaw, and baking stuff. Yes, I am 12, don't judge haha! I also bought The Wah Nails Book of Nail Art, if you're looking for a cute nailspiration book this one is for you!

Anywho, todays post features Essie Shine of the Times and Bikini So Teeny. This mani was a huge hit and I received so many compliments. Bikini So Teeny is a gorgeous periwinkle/baby blue creme while Shine of the Times is an orange/gold/green flakie. I find with most Essie cremes the formula tends to be thick however this was not the case with BsT.

Gorgeous, right? This is 1 coat CND Stickey, 2 coats of Bikini so Teeny, 2 coats Shine of the Times, and 1 thick coat of Seche Vite. As a quick side note Shine of the Times is no longer carried at Walgreens and was replaced with Stroke of Brilliance the multiple sized blue glitter in the Essie basic department. Which I think is a damn shame as it was the best polish in the Luxe line.

Thanks for looking!

Summer Grapefruit

Hi there Bloggerettes! I'm having a rough day but wanted to show off a cheerful Summer mani! Today I'm featuring Julep Hayden layered with Zoya Rica. Hayden is a bright orange peach creme while Rica is a gorgeous coral with gold shimmer. The combination reminded me of a freshly cut grapefruit, pretty even though I hate grapefruit, lol.

2 coats of Hayden, no topcoat.

I started off with 1 coat Gelous, 2 coats Hayden, 1 coat of Rica, topped off with Seche Vite. Sadly I experienced some lame shrinkage but the color was gorgeous. Nubbins are no fun but my nails are finally growing! Ever since I mixed up my vitamin intake my nails have become a lot thinner than I am used to so I need to remedy this asap. Well, I'm not feeling so great so it's going to be an early night for this usual insomniac!

My Boyfriend Scales Hippity Hops

Hey Bloggerettes! Long time no postie. Life has been a bit hectic with both Bostons getting sick while my dad was in the hospital. It's been an exhausting, stressful week but I am back.

Todays mani is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls with Girly Bits Hippity Hop. Lmao, I never in a million years thought that I would find a Spiderman Hippity Hop to go along with this mani. My Boyfriend Scales Walls in a greyed white creme and Hippity Hop is a mix of purple, pink, green, holo pastel glitters with pink purple shimmer. I was able to purchase Hippity Hop over at Harlow & Co. shortly after my Girly Bits order for $12.

 2 coats MBSW.
1 coat Hippity Hop over MBSW.

I applied a generous coat of Gelous followed by Seche Vite to even out my finish. Hippity Hop was a huge lemming for me and it didn't dissappoint. I tried to capture the shimmer and effects but it does not photograph easily. You definitely have to play around with placement as it is thick. My Boyfriend Scales Walls has easily become my favorite white even though the formula is a bit thin.

If you don't follow me on Instagram(feedkmayeorchids) you missed out on some pictures of Zombri's xrays, Father's Day, hauls, and other goodies. Here's a sneak peek of some of my favorites.

I mean my, my, my, my you're like pelican fly!

I was fortunate enough to pick up the OPI Nicki Minaj collection a couple weeks back. I think this is the first full collection of anything that I knew I NEEDED to have! It's made up of three cremes Pink Friday a baby pink, Fly a dark dusty teal, and Did It On 'Em a chartreuse yellow/green. Also 2 glitters Metallic 4 Life a black jelly with silver big hex glitter and small square glitter, and Save Me a blue and holographic bar glitter with small silver glitter in a clear base. And to wrap it up Super Bass, a bright magenta shatter. Save Me is the whole reason this collection stood out for me. It truly is lovely. I couldn't wait to use them but didn't want to do skittles. So I decided to do a water marble with the three cremes, a layer of Save Me, then a layer of Super Bass, and to finish it off an accent finger in Metallic 4 Life.

Pink Friday, Fly, Did It On 'Em
Save Me, Metallic 4 Life, Super Bass

It was so hard trying to get a good picture of this mani. I was so proud of it! I really enjoyed this collection and Nicki Minaj is my guilty pleasure. I purchased my set online via a Facebook friend so I'm not sure if this collection is currently at Ulta. But I suggest getting it asap bloggerettes!

My sleepy babies Cletus and Zombri!
