Shiny Bikini Time

Hello, hello, hello Bloggerettes! I've had a very busy August with work, my birthday, and my boyfrans birthday. The boyfran and I shared an amazing vacation with the pups, food, and a lot of alcohol. We also did a lot of shopping, so I picked up some new make up and polish. Gifts were some Adventure Time toys, Lollipop Chainsaw, and baking stuff. Yes, I am 12, don't judge haha! I also bought The Wah Nails Book of Nail Art, if you're looking for a cute nailspiration book this one is for you!

Anywho, todays post features Essie Shine of the Times and Bikini So Teeny. This mani was a huge hit and I received so many compliments. Bikini So Teeny is a gorgeous periwinkle/baby blue creme while Shine of the Times is an orange/gold/green flakie. I find with most Essie cremes the formula tends to be thick however this was not the case with BsT.

Gorgeous, right? This is 1 coat CND Stickey, 2 coats of Bikini so Teeny, 2 coats Shine of the Times, and 1 thick coat of Seche Vite. As a quick side note Shine of the Times is no longer carried at Walgreens and was replaced with Stroke of Brilliance the multiple sized blue glitter in the Essie basic department. Which I think is a damn shame as it was the best polish in the Luxe line.

Thanks for looking!

Tutorial Tuesday: Grunge

G'day Bloggerettes! Today features another group mani featuring Tutorial Tuesday; when you pick your favorite tutorial and do it! I decided to try my hand at Jamie at Nails Adored Grunge Tutorial. However instead of grunge I got more funky peacock but it's still pretty sweet! This post is going to be very picture heavy!

I picked Essie Licorice, Sinful Unicorn, Orly Purple Crush, China Glaze Splish Splash, and China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. You'll need a capful of acetone and a paintbrush for this mani.
I started with a coat of CND Stickey followed by 2 coats Licorice.
 Paint 1 side with Unicorn.
 Then Purple Crush.
Followed by Splish Splash, then Turned Up Turquoise.
Once your done take your paintbrush, dip in acetone, and start brushing your nails till desired effect.

I am so happy with my results! Jamie did a great tutorial and I hope I did her some justice! What do you think? Now let's look at what the other girls did!

Alice in Neonland

Hey Bloggerettes! I've been taking a mini vacation and finally taking some time for little things like being outside and painting my nails. Tonight I have a fun look that's been stirring in my mind since this morning. I wanted an Alice in Wonderland meets Betsey Johnson kind of look and came up with Alice in Neonland. With the help of my handy dandy dotting tools I completed this look within an American Dad episode, lol.

In order of nail apperance: Barry M Pure Turquoise(base 2 coats), Dollish Polish We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat(1 coat), Konad White(large dotting tool for rose base), Zoya Luna(glitter for roses), Orly Purple Crush(small dotting tool for rose outline), and Zoya Apple(small dotting tool for leaves). Haha, note the teeth marks on my Konad polish. Anyone else have a hard time trying to open those suckers?

Barry M Pure Turquoise reminds me of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pool Party.
Dollish Polish We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat. I wish you could see how fantastic this really is!
The finished look with a nice thick coat of Seche Vite.
I couldn't leave well enough alone and added a coat of Essie Matte About You. It still looks cool but I think I like this look better shiny.
I realized my mani matched my favorite cosmetic brand, Sugarpill's, new stickers! Random excitement for the win!

This mani was so much fun to do and come up with. My last post reminded me how much I love doing random nail art and such but I never have the time to play around. Hopefully I can keep up with this! What do you think of this look?

Infinite Sky

After seeing this XSparkage post I knew I needed to pick up Loreal Infallible eyeshadow in Infinite Sky. Infinite Sky is a loose pigment which is pressed together by a little grey 'shield'. It is best used wet, I prefer eye drops on a flat paddle brush. I found the shadow very easy to work with, with little fall out which I had expected to have. Not to mention it's a lovely delicate shade of icy blue.

When you take off the top(left) the shield(top) is there to push/flatten the pigment down.

Loreal Infallible shadows have been compared to Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill line. I have not tried them but from other reviews, pictures, etc they look very similar. I was pleasantly surprised by this product and will definitely be picking up a few more shades in the future. Loreal Infallible Eyeshadows retail for $7.99 at Walgreens.

Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo

Today I bring to you Sinful Colors Cinderella, part of the new 2012 basic collection. She's a bright baby blue creme with gold and baby pink sparkle. I love the color, however, I found the formula to be a bit thin.

After a couple days of wear I wasn't ready to take it off. So I started off with some sponging with Sinful Colors Easy Going (a baby pink) and Klean Colors Gorgeous Surprise (a purple sparkle).

It was very cute and delicate, reminding me of Easter. But I still wanted to play around so I added some crackle with China Glaze Cracked Concrete. On my ring finger I wanted to try the new 'rimming' technique and used a bright navy blue from Kiss Nail Art polishes.

I wish I had a nice opaque white, I think that would have been better for the rimming. Cinderella is getting pretty popular and for now it is part of the basic collection at Walgreens for $1.99.

I've been really into the indie polish craze going on right now. On Etsy I've picked up polishes from Pretty and Polished and Dollish Polish(which is currently closed). My PnP package came in today and I'm still waiting on my DP order. The polishes are so beautiful and I can't wait to show you!!

For now here's Zombri and I modeling some Gross Out!

Pool of Sapphire

Wow, I did this mani quite some time ago! This is OPI DS Sapphire over Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Pool Boy. I can't believe I didn't post this back then. Actually I have a few things I need to post from several months ago. Mostly make up looks. Anywho, please check out my mani!
Taken on a bright sunny day in Florida! Pool Boy really brightened up Sapphire, a dusty baby blue holo. I personally like Sapphire with some underwear, the color isn't that stellar on it's own. What do you think?

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics

It's been quite a few months since Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics released their Pretty Boy Collection. My favorite thing about this brand is everything, right down to their brushes, are 100% vegan. I previously ordered a few of their Lip Tars, which are lipsticks built like gloss. The tiniest bit covers your lips with zero smudging or feathering when used properly. Anywho, after seeing previews from Temptalia I knew I needed to have their loose pigment in Jubilee, Lip Tar in Narcissus, and nail polish in Pool Boy. In a few short days these babies were MINE!
Pool Boy is the most amazing blue neon creme I have ever seen. This polish literally glows! I received a lot of compliments when I wore this and you bet I stretched out the wear time well over a week, lol. No streaking when applied and no chipping after all that wear time. Very impressed.
Jubilee appears as a baby blue in the jar but when applied dry without a base you can see it's actually a beautiful green/blue/purple duochrome. Definitely original! On my eye Jubilee was applied with a damp brush to give it a more 'solid' appearance.
The flash from my camera totally washed out Jubilee but trust me it is very vibrant! I am wearing Narcissus Lip Tar and Pool Boy on my nails. Narcissus applied a bit streaky and I had to blend it a bit before it looked ok. I did not have this issue with my other lip tars. It's a very bright, chalky pink really a very lovely shade.
And you'll notice this is 'prebangs', lol. I was very happy with my purchase and hope to get more from this collection. The only thing that makes me hesitate, as always, are the prices. But you are paying for quality! Pigments retail at $12, Lip Tars $13, and Polish $8 at Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.

Blue Satin

Hello Bloggerettes! I hesitate to post this as work has made my hands quite dry and sad but the color is just too beautiful not to share. This is two coats of Klean Colors Blue Satin and a nice thick coat of Seche Vite.

Blue Satin is a dark navy blue with blue shimmer, round holo glitter, and holo bar glitter. It really is unique and lovely. Klean Colors are available at BeautyJoint for a cool $1.75. In other news we will hopefully be moving out by early November which means more posts will come soon! Please keep your fingers crossed that everything works out!

Franken Kimmaye

Hey there blogerettes! I am alive and well just uber busy! And just my luck all my photo programs have been acting lame so I had to download Gimp. One of my biggest lemmings is Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie inspired by one of my favorite bloggers Scrangie. Scrangie is a beautiful duochrome based off the wings of a beetle. Of course this beauty has been pretty hard to find so I turned to frankening to see if I could dupe it. My pictures make Kimmaye look blue but it is definitely more blurple with green/teal shimmer. Kimmaye still wasn't a dupe so I added a layer of Zoya Adina to see if that would help. Unfortunely this one was a fail at duping but still pretty.
 Just Kimmaye.
With one layer of Zoya Adina, the last picture is from my cell phone.

My application of Adina was a little messy but c'est la vie. Shortly after this I picked up a new bottle of Seche Vite since my old bottle started to bubble my mani's. I am pretty persistent so I will keep trying to make a dupe unless I somehow get my very own bottle of Scrangie. I'll keep you posted! ;)
Fat bottom grrl.
