Tutorial Tuesday: Grunge

G'day Bloggerettes! Today features another group mani featuring Tutorial Tuesday; when you pick your favorite tutorial and do it! I decided to try my hand at Jamie at Nails Adored Grunge Tutorial. However instead of grunge I got more funky peacock but it's still pretty sweet! This post is going to be very picture heavy!

I picked Essie Licorice, Sinful Unicorn, Orly Purple Crush, China Glaze Splish Splash, and China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. You'll need a capful of acetone and a paintbrush for this mani.
I started with a coat of CND Stickey followed by 2 coats Licorice.
 Paint 1 side with Unicorn.
 Then Purple Crush.
Followed by Splish Splash, then Turned Up Turquoise.
Once your done take your paintbrush, dip in acetone, and start brushing your nails till desired effect.

I am so happy with my results! Jamie did a great tutorial and I hope I did her some justice! What do you think? Now let's look at what the other girls did!

Zuza-San

Good morning Bloggerettes! It's that time again for our group mani! This time the theme was Gradient Friday! I stopped by Ulta today and finally picked up Zoya Zuza which I have been lemming since the first swatches came out. I knew that I wanted to use Zuza right away so I sat here for a hot minute thinking of a good gradient combo to combine with her. Sinful Color Mama-San was practically aching for some usage so I chose her and Nyx Gilded Glitter.
2 coats of Mama-San, a rose colored foil.
Zuza over Mama-San. I used a folded up piece of paper towel for my gradient.
To finish this look off I added a coat of Gilded Glitter. The last addition really warmed up this look. I find this mani to appear almost romantic, if that makes sense. It's so pretty, I just can't stop staring!
Zombri and I want you to check out the other ladies gorgeous gradients!

Edited to add my sunny Florida day pictures. See how my gradient glows! And check out my Color Club Electro Candy pedi!

Turning Bubble Tea into Pea Soup!

Ah, Sunday...you come and go so fast! Well bloggerettes, I turned Bubble Tea into pea soup this weekend. Pretty and Polished's Bubble Tea that is! Bubble Tea is a light murky green with medium black hexagon glitter and micro white glitter. But how did I turn it into icky pea soup? With Sinful Colors Innocent, a beautiful creme chartreuse, as underwear! It's a very odd combo and in hindsight I wish I chose a different underwear, lol.

 Pea Soup!

Innocent was 2 coats and Bubble Tea was another 2 coats with Gelous and Seche Vite on top. For me Bubble Tea was a bit hungry but Gelous really took care of that! Bubble Tea retails over at Pretty and Polished for $4.50 for a mini bottle and $8 for a full size bottle. For fun I thought I'd show a few bottle shots!

Midnight Rider, Party on my Yacht, Bubble Tea, and PnP business card!
Look at all that gorgeousness!

I can't wait to place my next order with Pretty and Polished!!

Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo

Today I bring to you Sinful Colors Cinderella, part of the new 2012 basic collection. She's a bright baby blue creme with gold and baby pink sparkle. I love the color, however, I found the formula to be a bit thin.

After a couple days of wear I wasn't ready to take it off. So I started off with some sponging with Sinful Colors Easy Going (a baby pink) and Klean Colors Gorgeous Surprise (a purple sparkle).

It was very cute and delicate, reminding me of Easter. But I still wanted to play around so I added some crackle with China Glaze Cracked Concrete. On my ring finger I wanted to try the new 'rimming' technique and used a bright navy blue from Kiss Nail Art polishes.

I wish I had a nice opaque white, I think that would have been better for the rimming. Cinderella is getting pretty popular and for now it is part of the basic collection at Walgreens for $1.99.

I've been really into the indie polish craze going on right now. On Etsy I've picked up polishes from Pretty and Polished and Dollish Polish(which is currently closed). My PnP package came in today and I'm still waiting on my DP order. The polishes are so beautiful and I can't wait to show you!!

For now here's Zombri and I modeling some Gross Out!

This is what snow should look like!

I've been really getting into making my own nail polish jewelry. It's such a great concept, polish on you nails with matching rings! Genius! A few weeks ago I ordered ring supplies from a wholesale company by the name of Panda Hall based in China. So far my experience has been horrible. It literally took them weeks to tell me the items I ordered were out of stock. However they gave me an extra 3% off on the items I chose to replace them with. I am still waiting for my refund to my Paypal account. My supplies were shipped last Saturday so I'll keep you posted if this experience has been worth it at all. Anywho, this is a case of a mani being done first on one of my rings then on my nails! Base is Sinful Colors Snow Me White, OPI What's Dune, and Klean Colors Aurora. Having lived in Puerto Rico and now Florida I have had very VERY little experience with snow but I truly believe it should look like this!

P.S.-Tommorrow is my birthdaaay!

“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.”

Sorry to be m.i.a. lately. I was pretty sick for about two weeks and couldn't work. I spent all that time in bed! So I've been a bit behind in most aspects of life. Today I bring you my Betsey Johnson inspired nails. Betsey Johnson is one of my icons. Purses, jewelery...I love it, I own it, I crave it! This look was China Glaze Cheers to You as a base, China Glaze Crackle Glaze Black Mesh, Sinful Creme Pink, and Sinful Innocent for the roses. I was aiming for a look that would really pop and I love how simple and fun this was.

My only regret was not getting better pictures. Shortly after I did this look I broke my right thumb nail which was a huge bummer. This look stayed on my nails for almost two weeks as I've been using all my extra time to sleep and relax. Not having my own desk/vanity is driving me crazy.

And just for kicks here's Zoya Gemma with China Glaze Crackle Broken Hearted! I'm really loving the crackle trend and can't wait to get my hands on the new OPIs. What about you? Are you sick of the crackle trend? Or loving it?
