The Zebras Were Framed!

It was the one armed man! Hey there Bloggerettes! We Jacksonvillians are currently dealing with Tropical Storm Beryl and are not too happy! Dreary days and power outages, happy summer, right!? Anywho to brighten the day here's one of my most favorite manis to date! It was inspired by one of my favorite people, Betsey Johnson, and a pair of her fabulous earrings.
I started with a base of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu, 2 coats, on my index, ring, and pinkies. Followed by 1 coat of Glitter Gal Light as a Feather to give it a kick of holo. On my thumb and middle fingers I did a generous coat of Gelous then 3 coats of Milani Gold Jewel FX another coat of Gelous and finally a coat of Seche Vite. My glitta was smooth, lol! Next up I used my handy dandy Konad M57 plate, using the zebra design and Konad Black polish. For the rim I used LA Colors Art Deco in Intense Pink finishing up with a coat of Seche Vite. Phew, that was a lot of work!

2 coats of Tutu, 1 LaaF, and 3 Gold FX.

Stupid pinkie smudges! Somehow some little pink glitter got on my index finger too. I guess my mani just has some added character! I got so many compliments on this look it was crazy. I actually went to Sephora and wore a look using my new Sigma Paris palette and these nails and customers were asking me for help, etc instead of the employees. It definitely boosted my pride, which is always nice! What do you think? Here's a bonus "bleh rain, I'm so bored" picture, lol.

Leopard Sugarplum Yum

Hello Bloggerettes! I was lucky enough to purchase OPI Sugarplum Yum and Sugarplum Yum Glitter from Rachel over at Cherryglamgirl. Sugarplum Yum is a dusty pale purple duochrome that shifts pink to gold. The glitter is a micro mix of medium purple and holo. For this look I decided against using underwear and did 3 coats to make it opaque.

For the glitter I wasn't interested in just doing a layer and be done with it. It's been awhile since I've used my Konads so I busted out my favorite plate M57. I wanted a delicate print so to stamp I used China Glaze Avalanche, a light chrome purple. I chose the leopard spots and for the insides I used Sugarplum Yum Glitter with the small end of a dotting tool.

My pictures don't do this mani justice! It was lovely, delicate, and just what I was going for. Sugarplum Yum and Glitter are both HTF polishes but keep an eye out of eBay and blog sales! I just found this listing on eBay. What do you think?

Quickie!

Here's a quickie post of random nails I sported throughout the year! Nothing too special, well not special enough for their own individual posts,  but they need a good home. I'm currently battling my annual end of the year flu and just don't have the effort to do much of anything, lol.
Nyx Gilded Glitter, Essence Edward & Bella half moons.
Butter Londen All Hail McQueen. I don't remember the red.
Messy failed attempt at stamping, was immediately removed, lol.
 Orly Rock Solid.
 SPACE!
 My attempt at mannequin hands.
 Ice, ice, baby dundundundundadadundun.
OPI Muppets glitter gradiant.

Well, I'm off for more napping and chicken souping now. Have a safe and pleasant Thursday evening my bloggerettes! <3

Halloween Inspired!

I've been so inspired by fellow bloggers Halloween nails that I decided to try my hand at some of my favorites. Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails did my favorites, eyeballs and glow in the dark ghosts. Kayla at Nails By Kayla Shevonne did an amazing job at zombie flesh. And the lovely Rebecca did a super cute tutorial on realistic roses that I totally bombed on, lol. I used a buttload of polishes so I won't list them, I didn't use the same colors as the other bloggers did anyway. If you choose to try them out you can make them your own! But if you are curious about a color I would be happy to tell you!

Details were done using various sized dotting tools as well as the Halloween Bundle Monster plate. My ghost looks '3D' because I used my Konad white which is very thick. I did use China Glaze Ghoulish Glow to make him glow in the dark. That little booger was hard to photograph in the dark, lol. What's your favorite Halloween mani out there in the blogosphere?

Turned Up

Turned Up Turquoise from China Glaze is my new love! It applies like a dream. All I needed was 2 even coats. She dries matte, or rather suede as there is some shimmer. But once I applied Seche Vite, oh my she was beautiful! Also I'm trying to test out watermarking my photos and I'm not sure how I feel about this site yet, Picnik. Anyone know of a better site that I can try?

Oh and here's my failicure! When I bought Turned Up Turquoise I picked up another lemming, Orly Purple Crush. I had the perfect mani in my head but it definitely did not transfer to my nails, lol.
Also please see exhibit A as to why I do not want children! They just don't know how to take care of precious gems such as polish! I guess my niece just got tired and didn't think to screw the cap back on...
Yes this is what happens to crackle polish when the top isn't screwed at all! What the frick? Lol. Now I can't find this polish anywhere and I just don't want to pay for another polish when I shouldn't have to. Le sigh. R.I.P. Black Mesh, we had some good times.

Roses are yellow...

Fresh off my Franken Miss Zombri I bring you my Monday Floral mani for Polish-aholics Anonymous. The idea came to me in the shower, lol. This is Konad plate m57, special black stamping polish, Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Lightning, OPI Gargantuan Green Grape matte, and of course Franken Miss Zombri.

I'm typing this blog as I sit in the hospital. It's my daddy again. Last night was the worst night of my life and the scariest. I won't elaborate but it's been hard. He's stable but it's opened up a can of worms it seems. Hug your daddies girls!
