Anachronism, A Franken

Anachronism is made from various glitter polishes I had laying around, much like my previous franken, Bile. However, rather than a clear base she has a jelly grey base. One of the many wonderful women I have met via Facebook polish groups did a very beautiful version of this that inspired me to get my franken juices flowing. This is 2 coats of Anachronism over SOPI Sparkling Personality.

She's a bit sheer so that extra sparkle shining through is from Sparkling Personality. No nail has the same mixture of glitter making each one it's own special little snowflake! There is no wrong way to make this franken so I urge you to try this out yourselves! Now I'd like to end this post with some lols to cheer us all up. <3

Franken: Snu Snu

Ozotic and indie brand Dollish Polish have made beautiful duochrome holographic polishes. Unfortunately Ozotic is pretty expensive and Toxic Avenger by DP has been out for a bit. So to cure my insatiable need for this glorious combination I got to work on my own franken. Here's Snu Snu. (Bonus points if you know what Snu Snu is!)

As always I can never good a good representation of the duochrome. Snu Snu is a linear holographic that flashes green, pink, and purple(the bottle shot shows a good example of this). I gave her some underwear in the form of Essie Merino Cool, a dark taupe. She's pretty opaque but I felt the underwear was necessary. And so my thirst for now has been quenched. What do you think of my franken?

Franken Kimmaye

Hey there blogerettes! I am alive and well just uber busy! And just my luck all my photo programs have been acting lame so I had to download Gimp. One of my biggest lemmings is Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie inspired by one of my favorite bloggers Scrangie. Scrangie is a beautiful duochrome based off the wings of a beetle. Of course this beauty has been pretty hard to find so I turned to frankening to see if I could dupe it. My pictures make Kimmaye look blue but it is definitely more blurple with green/teal shimmer. Kimmaye still wasn't a dupe so I added a layer of Zoya Adina to see if that would help. Unfortunely this one was a fail at duping but still pretty.
 Just Kimmaye.
With one layer of Zoya Adina, the last picture is from my cell phone.

My application of Adina was a little messy but c'est la vie. Shortly after this I picked up a new bottle of Seche Vite since my old bottle started to bubble my mani's. I am pretty persistent so I will keep trying to make a dupe unless I somehow get my very own bottle of Scrangie. I'll keep you posted! ;)
Fat bottom grrl.

Fall Franken

One of my biggest lemmings is OPI for Sephora (SOPI) 212. She is a gorgeous shade of brown/olive with holo glitter and flakies. Unfortunately it's only sold(out) online and at the Sephora in Time Square in New York. So after feeling inspired by this truly original color and my favorite season I got to work on frankening! It's so not a dupe but an inspiration, my interpretation, of what I want/NEED. Her name is Fall.

I know, serious picture spam, but I wanted to show off all the colors! Fall is a mixture of various colors including the colors from my last post. I especially love the last picture and the color variation in the flakies. Oh it was beautiful and I wore this baby for a good long time. Anywho, you might have noticed that I changed up the blog. I wanted a more 'put together' look. I'm not 100% feeling it and there could be more changes but for now I am satisfied. What do you think?

Tron

No relation to the movies but when I looked at my finished franken I just thought Tron. I based this franken on the ever popular and HTF OPI DS Glamour. If I couldn't have it then damn it I was going to try to dupe it! I used Orly Royal Navy, a few drops of China Glaze Liquid Leather, and of course spectraflair. BTW all the teal sparkle in Royal Navy had sank to the bottom so it's not in my franken!

This is hands down my favorite franken so far. I wouldn't say it's a dupe but Tron and Glamour could be...cousins. What do you think?

Purple people eater!

I caved. I'm not much for spending over $10 on a bottle of nail polish. Figure, the more the merrier! But Nfu Oh 51 was teasing me, taunting me. It had to be mine. Once that bottle was in my hands I sat in front of my led lamp and just stared for a good 5 minutes drooling, lol. It's gorgeous in that wonderfully shaped bottle but on the nails it's obvious that it needs to be layered. This is three coats...

I tried to get as many angles so you can see the rainbows but being inside doesn't help. Jacksonville is hardly ever sunny anymore. I enjoy those dark rainy days but dabnabbit I want some pretty pictures!lol. I  decided I wanted to have more fun so I did some playing around with one of my frankens, Electrohead. This was meant to be a dupe of China Glaze DV8 but obviously it didn't work out!

P.S.- If you have even the smallest, itty bitty chip in your tooth avoid bleaching your teeth! Oy vey!

My first water marble...(pic heavy!)

Oh happy weekend full of sleep and more sleep! So here's my first attempt at a water marbling. I think it came out pretty good but not quite what I expected. This is China Glaze Cowgirl Up, China Glaze For Audrey, Nicole by OPI Make a Comet-ment, and Orly Fancy Fuschia, my franken Bile, base is 3 coats of Essence Prismatic White, free Hello Kitty decals from bornpretty and a flower from my moms garden. I know that's a mouth full! The first finger I did came out the best, in my opinion, it's also the finger I didn't use any protection, lol.

Before clean up.

After the first clean up attempt. Ladies use protection!lol

I'm pretty proud of my first attempt. Though I wish For Audrey would have been more noticeable. I used one of my mom's flowers on my pinkies. I cut the petals to fit my nails, painted a fresh coat of polish, placed it, then painted a top coat. It didn't hold very well though and was peeling immediately. But I wanted to try!

I won my Essence Prismatic White from a giveaway from Holly at shimmerspark along with a holographic eyeshadow in Lilac and a holographic lip gloss in Holoberry. Keep in mind Essence states these are 'holographic' when they are really duochrome.
 Cute tape!

Lilac is a purple base with blue duochrome.

Holoberry on the left and lilac on the right.
Holoberry is a pink based gloss with yellow, green, and blue duochrome.

Prismatic White is a white based polish with green and pink duochrome.

Holly had super cute stamps and business card. This was a great prize as it was a brand I had zero experience with and it allowed me to try it out. The eyeshadow is my favorite base for my purple/blue looks. The gloss is gorgeous and the polish works great. Thanks Holly!
