Franken Kimmaye

Hey there blogerettes! I am alive and well just uber busy! And just my luck all my photo programs have been acting lame so I had to download Gimp. One of my biggest lemmings is Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie inspired by one of my favorite bloggers Scrangie. Scrangie is a beautiful duochrome based off the wings of a beetle. Of course this beauty has been pretty hard to find so I turned to frankening to see if I could dupe it. My pictures make Kimmaye look blue but it is definitely more blurple with green/teal shimmer. Kimmaye still wasn't a dupe so I added a layer of Zoya Adina to see if that would help. Unfortunely this one was a fail at duping but still pretty.
 Just Kimmaye.
With one layer of Zoya Adina, the last picture is from my cell phone.

My application of Adina was a little messy but c'est la vie. Shortly after this I picked up a new bottle of Seche Vite since my old bottle started to bubble my mani's. I am pretty persistent so I will keep trying to make a dupe unless I somehow get my very own bottle of Scrangie. I'll keep you posted! ;)
Fat bottom grrl.

Light as a Feather

....stiff as a board? When I first heard about Glitter Gal Light as a Feather my first thought was A WHITE  HOLO?!?!?!?!? My second thought was this scene from The Craft...
I still love this movie, lol. Anywho, a white holo is pretty unheard of as the white base typically turns a shade of grey/silver from the ingredients. LAAF is not a pure white though but regardless it is gorgeous. Glitter Gal polishes can be purchased online at Llarowe for $14. I know it sounds expensive especially as the bottle size runs pretty small at .3oz but you are paying for quality! This baby applied like buttah, this is three coats.

Mmmm, holo. I will be purchasing more Glitter Gals in the future! Lizard Belly, a dark green holo, is definitely next on the list. You may have noticed I changed the blog again. I like it much better this way! What are your opinions, blog and/or polish?

Royal

The boyfraan being the awesome human being that he is got me a gift certificate to my favorite nail salon Royal Essence. I do my own nails obviously but I still love and appreciate an excellent pedicure! They go all the way in service, just check out their site if you're around town. This was also an excellent chance to do some dusty hunting. I quickly found out that they refuse to sell open/used polishes but they had a locked case of treasures including OPI Designer Series! Their other polishes were so unorganized that I just mainly focused on the DS's. I left with 4 uber lemmings including DS Royal, a lovely shade of sparkly purple. I first swatched Royal on my nail wheel as I am reorganizing my stash and noticed it was pretty sheer. So I took out a random warm toned purple polish from Hot Topic and did two thin layers before adding another two layers of Royal.

Royal is hands down the prettiest purple I have ever seen! It has a great mix of blue/purple tones with so much shimmer. I advise not wearing this polish while driving on a bright sunny day as you will harm yourself and/or others, lol. Btw, my pedicure was AMAZING and I choose OPI Tease-y Does It from the Burlesque collection. I definitely need to get my hands on it! On another note I wore OPI DS Original for a few weeks in August and somehow never got any pictures of it except this one cell phone shot...
Another beautiful must have purple! One last thing, Traci at The TraceFace Philes made a mega post featuring frankens from fellow bloggers and nail polish enthusiasts who love Spectra Flair and the woman who sells it. Check it out!

Fall Franken

One of my biggest lemmings is OPI for Sephora (SOPI) 212. She is a gorgeous shade of brown/olive with holo glitter and flakies. Unfortunately it's only sold(out) online and at the Sephora in Time Square in New York. So after feeling inspired by this truly original color and my favorite season I got to work on frankening! It's so not a dupe but an inspiration, my interpretation, of what I want/NEED. Her name is Fall.

I know, serious picture spam, but I wanted to show off all the colors! Fall is a mixture of various colors including the colors from my last post. I especially love the last picture and the color variation in the flakies. Oh it was beautiful and I wore this baby for a good long time. Anywho, you might have noticed that I changed up the blog. I wanted a more 'put together' look. I'm not 100% feeling it and there could be more changes but for now I am satisfied. What do you think?

For Bitten Pumpkin

A few weeks back I went on a scavenger hunt at Ulta for my first international swap. Along the way I found some things for myself and used my rewards toward some free nail polish. One being Ulta For Bitten, a beautiful dark plum with red shimmer and gold undertones. She's my first Ulta brand polish and she did not disappoint.
Love it, but it just wasn't enough! I was craving Fall and Fall is my favorite season! So a layer of Sally Hansen's Pumpkin Spice was applied and my craving was fulfilled.

Mmm, look at all that shimmer! Pumpkin Spice is a dark murky green/brown jelly with orange glitter. It's China Glaze Ick-A-Body and Fortune Tellers little sister. Both polishes were great to work with and worth being a part of anyone's collection! I may or may not have made an awesome franken using these polishes... ;). On another note I really want to spruce up my blog and I'm having a hard time working with btemplates, can anyone help or suggest a better website for templates?

Bora Bora

After seeing many reviews on Stila's Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner I knew I had to try them. They retail for $22 at Ulta and Sephora, which in my opinion is pretty steep but worth it. All the colors are gorgeous but I knew I couldn't buy them all so I settled for my favorite color, Bora Bora. She's a beautiful shade of aqua with a hint of shimmer. I have literally gone 24 hours wearing this eyeliner, I know it's bad to sleep with makeup but when you're tired you're friggin tired, and it has not smeared or anything. The staying power is so strong that it will not remove by simply washing your face, you will need makeup remover. $22 for the confidence in your make up, I'll take it!

This is all the testers Ulta had of Stila's various liquid liners. Bora Bora is of course that stand out aqua in the middle. I do believe I will be buying Rock Candy, the brown second to last, next. What a perfect shade for Fall, right? I've been wearing my Bora Bora a lot and every time I get compliments from so many people! It definitely helps boost my confidence. I have the next 4 days off folks! I am so happy to just sit back and relax. I hope every one enjoys the holiday/weekend!
