The Zebras Were Framed!

It was the one armed man! Hey there Bloggerettes! We Jacksonvillians are currently dealing with Tropical Storm Beryl and are not too happy! Dreary days and power outages, happy summer, right!? Anywho to brighten the day here's one of my most favorite manis to date! It was inspired by one of my favorite people, Betsey Johnson, and a pair of her fabulous earrings.
I started with a base of OPI Don't Touch My Tutu, 2 coats, on my index, ring, and pinkies. Followed by 1 coat of Glitter Gal Light as a Feather to give it a kick of holo. On my thumb and middle fingers I did a generous coat of Gelous then 3 coats of Milani Gold Jewel FX another coat of Gelous and finally a coat of Seche Vite. My glitta was smooth, lol! Next up I used my handy dandy Konad M57 plate, using the zebra design and Konad Black polish. For the rim I used LA Colors Art Deco in Intense Pink finishing up with a coat of Seche Vite. Phew, that was a lot of work!

2 coats of Tutu, 1 LaaF, and 3 Gold FX.

Stupid pinkie smudges! Somehow some little pink glitter got on my index finger too. I guess my mani just has some added character! I got so many compliments on this look it was crazy. I actually went to Sephora and wore a look using my new Sigma Paris palette and these nails and customers were asking me for help, etc instead of the employees. It definitely boosted my pride, which is always nice! What do you think? Here's a bonus "bleh rain, I'm so bored" picture, lol.

Zuza-San

Good morning Bloggerettes! It's that time again for our group mani! This time the theme was Gradient Friday! I stopped by Ulta today and finally picked up Zoya Zuza which I have been lemming since the first swatches came out. I knew that I wanted to use Zuza right away so I sat here for a hot minute thinking of a good gradient combo to combine with her. Sinful Color Mama-San was practically aching for some usage so I chose her and Nyx Gilded Glitter.
2 coats of Mama-San, a rose colored foil.
Zuza over Mama-San. I used a folded up piece of paper towel for my gradient.
To finish this look off I added a coat of Gilded Glitter. The last addition really warmed up this look. I find this mani to appear almost romantic, if that makes sense. It's so pretty, I just can't stop staring!
Zombri and I want you to check out the other ladies gorgeous gradients!

Edited to add my sunny Florida day pictures. See how my gradient glows! And check out my Color Club Electro Candy pedi!

Ruby Pumps, White Veil

Sounds like a pretty hot wedding, eh? Today's mani is actually from a bit back. The boyfran asked me to sport red and white for his favorite hockey team, the Washington Capitals, during game 6 against the New York Rangers. I am in no way into any sports but I was happy to join in to support him. They won that game, he says due to my good luck mani, lol. Whatever! I did 1 even coat of Maybelline Racy Romance, 2 coats China Glaze Ruby Pumps, 1 coat of Sally Hansen White Veil, and a thick coat of Seche Vite.
This mani was gorgeous! Ruby Pumps is so vibrant and shiny. I can't believe it was my first time using it. The boyfran will tell you because I didn't do any more good luck manis the Caps lost the playoffs. IIIIII don't think so, lol!

Funhouse Danse

Hey there Bloggerettes! Today I have a very delicate and cute mani for you. It's also my first jelly sandwich. This is 2 coats of OPI Care to Danse(a sheer lavender jelly), 1 coat Dandy Nails Funhouse(a shredded teal, purple glitter with micro silver glitter), and 1 more coat of Care to Danse.

Funhouse is such an awesome glitter. The only issue I had was a few shreds were sticking up through my top coat. I just used my little scissors and trimmed them up. Dandy Nails Funhouse retails for $8 for .5oz of polish. She's currently on hiatus but she should be back in stock soon!

Splattered Lizard

Remember my tape mani I did with a group of ladies? Well today we're all doing 'Splatterday', a series of splatter manis! I love doing a group project because you get to see so many looks with the same basic concept.

My completed splatter mani.

Here's a fun fact, I am absolutely terrified of lizards. All shapes, sizes, breeds...terrified. I have absolutely no idea why either, lol. So when the new OPI Spiderman collection came out and I saw Just Spotted the Lizard, the Chanel Peridot dupe, I was like crap. HAHA! It really is a beautiful color and has easily made its way into my top 5 favorite polishes to date but come on OPI....change the name for little ol' me, lol. I started my mani off with CND Stickey, 3 coats of polish with the terrifying name, and a coat of Seche Vite. I did a top coat because this was my first splatter mani ever and I knew I was bound to mess it up.

The last shot is my nails underwater to show off that sweet gold, blue, green duochome. Amazing, right!?! Almost makes up for that God awful name!
Polish with terrifying name, Pink Friday, Strawberry Fields, Flying Dragon. Tools for a pretty sweet splatter.

I am so so so in love with my splatter! After having a heck of a time trying to make a 'pretty splatter' I finally found the perfect system for me. I used a normal straw you get in a pack at the grocery store and bent up the end. Then I got a piece of cardboard and did a few drops of polish on there and brushed some on my straw. This was the only way I had any splatter come off my straw. Trust me I did a few other ways before I found my solution. Now I am so excited to show off the other girls looks! Here's our InLinks.

Fig Jam

Hey hey hey Bloggerettes! Today I have one of the new Revlon scented polishes, Fig Jam. She is a beautiful mix of bronze/orange and gold micro shimmer. I have nothing in my collection like it and it was the only one on the display that caught my eye. As someone who has never seen let alone tasted a fig the smell of this polish is absolutely delish! It's sweet and not at all overwhelming. The scent stayed with me for about 2 days before fading completely.

This is 2 coats of Fig Jam and 1 coat Seche Vite. Formula was easy to work with if not a bit thick. I purchased her at Walgreens at $5.49. I personally think it's a perfect summer shade! As most of you know I work at Walgreens, well on Tuesday we received the new Sally Hansen Magnetics on the truck. I haven't seen anything online about it so I took a few phone pictures to show them off.

They're $9.99 and have a $1 off coupon. All of them have the same wave pattern magnet on the cap. The colors are gorgeous, especially the gold and copper.  I think magnetics are pretty neat but I'm too shaky to really play around with it. I bought a few of the China Glaze ones but have yet to play with them. So ladies what do you think of this magnetics craze?

Monroe

Hey there Bloggerettes! I've had a pretty meh weekend beginning with an overnight shift. Needless to say I am just wiped out and feeling pretty lazy. Anywho, I finally ordered from Ninja Polish for the first time last month and picked up 2 out of 3 of the new Picture Polishes, Monroe and Mask-a-rade. Monroe is a deep vampy red jelly with micro holographic glitter.

Isn't she gorg?! Definitely lives up to the legend. This is 3 coats and 1 coat of Seche Vite. The formula was very easy to work with. From other reviews I was expecting a not so vibrant holo polish but the holo really stands out no matter the lighting! The price is a bit of a stinker at $15.50 but I think it's worth having such a unique color in my collection. Not to mention the amazing shipping from Ninja Polish, I ordered on a Friday and received my package on Monday! Just last week I placed my second order and had the same results. Great business! I can't wait for my next order, psst bring back Models Own Indian Ocean!!! ;)
