Fabuluxe Skull

It's Halloween Bloggerettes and I have a fab look for you today. I've been wanting to do my own take on the Sugar Skull mani but with more glitta and more accent nails!

My base colors.

Phew, my closeup pic makes my skin looked wrecked. I promise my skin is just fine, lol.

As usual I started off with 2 coats of Rejuvacote. My thumb, ring, and pinkie nails have 2 coats Revlon Stiletto, my new favorite black creme, with 2 coats Lush Lacquer Lite Brite glitta. Index nails has 2 coats OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and my middle is just 1 coat of Hard Candy Fabuluxe. I love me a good 1 coater! For my skull my tools of choice were a big and small dotting tool and a thin striper brush. For eyes, mouth, and nose I used Stiletto, Fabuluxe to surround the eyes, dots in eyes were Hard Candy Beetle, and the hearts were Orly Purple Crush. Lush Lacquer's Lite Brite is a gorgeous multi sized and colored glitter, a definite must have! The skull was much harder to do than I originally thought, I had to redo it a few times before I was happy.

I hope you liked my Halloween mani, I know I loved it. Today was a rough day, we found out my father in law passed away. I would love and appreciate any love, prayers, and well wishes for my boyfrann, his family, and myself. I hate to end this on a sad note so here is a funny picture of Zombri and her new friends at the dog park last weekend.

Thanks for looking!

Fig Jam

Hey hey hey Bloggerettes! Today I have one of the new Revlon scented polishes, Fig Jam. She is a beautiful mix of bronze/orange and gold micro shimmer. I have nothing in my collection like it and it was the only one on the display that caught my eye. As someone who has never seen let alone tasted a fig the smell of this polish is absolutely delish! It's sweet and not at all overwhelming. The scent stayed with me for about 2 days before fading completely.

This is 2 coats of Fig Jam and 1 coat Seche Vite. Formula was easy to work with if not a bit thick. I purchased her at Walgreens at $5.49. I personally think it's a perfect summer shade! As most of you know I work at Walgreens, well on Tuesday we received the new Sally Hansen Magnetics on the truck. I haven't seen anything online about it so I took a few phone pictures to show them off.

They're $9.99 and have a $1 off coupon. All of them have the same wave pattern magnet on the cap. The colors are gorgeous, especially the gold and copper.  I think magnetics are pretty neat but I'm too shaky to really play around with it. I bought a few of the China Glaze ones but have yet to play with them. So ladies what do you think of this magnetics craze?

8 Years

Today is my 8 year anniversary with my boyfran! I met him a long time ago when I was a Sophomore and he was a Junior in Highschool. We've hit a lot of rough patches but for every bad there's triple the good! I had to work this morning but when I came home he had two steaks and roses on the counter waiting for me. We're currently working on our second bottle of wine so hopefully I'm typing this coherently, lol! To celebrate I wanted bright lovey dovey nails so I chose a sponge gradient of Pure Ice Twinkle, Sally Hansen Hi-Res, and Revlon Vintage. I didn't have any cosmetic wedges so for the sponging I used packing peanuts! Then to 'spice' in up I did some stamping with China Glaze 2030 and Bundle Monster Plate BM02.

 Pure Ice Twinkle by itself.

Close up on my thumb kiss.
 Ring finger I Love You.

This combination is hot! It reminds me of a tropical alcoholic drink. Now I shall be returning to our anniversary festivities! <3

Revlon Lip Butters

I was both excited and hesitant when I heard about Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters. Hesitant because this is something that's been done before with meh results and excited because maybe this would be better than past products. Revlon's Lip Butters are a balm with a tinted base, both moisturizing and full of color. After testing out Peach Parfait and Lollipop I can say I am very impressed and happy with the results! As a side note I originally bought Cupcake but the color was so gross, it looked like dried lip skin, that I had to return it!
Peach Parfait, a warm orange base with gold shimmer. Lollipop, a magenta.

Peach Parfait and Lollipop

I found the packaging to be pretty cute as well. The cover is see through, the color matching the lip butter, with a criss cross quilt design. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters retail for $7.99 at Walgreens and I believe Revlon will be on sale buy 1 get 1 50% off this week.

As another side note I work at Walgreens and today was truck day. After rummaging through the cosmetic totes I saw some of the new Milani nail polishes and took a few pictures!

Aren't they pretty?! Enjoy Bloggerettes!

Gold and Smoke

Good afternoon everyone! It's a beautiful sunny day in Florida and I'm watching some ancient CSI. My goodness the hair! It's awful, lol. I recently had my hair cut, my bangs are back. So I wanted to do a more dramatic smokey eye with a pop of color to celebrate.

It's been about 2 weeks since I had it cut like this. I've since cut them above my brows for a more Bettie look. It's funny, I waited forever for my old bangs to grow out but in the end I just enjoy this look more.

Items used were:
The Balm Time Balm concealer in Light/Medium
Loreal True Match Powder in Nude Beige
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade
Stila Custom Color Blush in Coral
Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Light
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean
Urban Decay Shadow in Black Out
Urban Decay Shadow in Buck
Urban Decay Shadow in Virgin
Loreal HIP Crystal Shadow Duo in Mystical (green side)
Urban Decay Liner in Zero

But there's something about her long shady eyes...

I know this is long, looong over due as I promised this quite some time ago. To be honest I took several pictures and what not, then friggin' forgot which was which!lol. I'm reviewing my three current favorite mascaras Lorac Multiplex 3D Lashes, Revlon Grow Luscious, and Benefit They're Real.
First up is Lorac. As you can see mine is a mini tube. The brush is made of rubber bristles similar to the Cover Girl's Lash Blasts and Benefit's They're Real. It is slightly curved and fits perfectly on my lash line and up. It's great for length but volume wise I haven't noticed anything special. However, I've definitely been picking this up more than the other 2 as of lately. A normal sized tube of Lorac 3D Multiplex Lashes retails for $22 at Sephora and Ulta.
Next up is Benefit's They're Real Mascara. Yes, another mini tube. This mascara recently launched earlier this month I believe. It's claim to fame is that it gives your lashes the appearance of false lashes, hence the name. The brush is rubber bristle's similar to Lorac's Multiplex 3D Lashes with a twist of Loreal's Telescopic Explosion Mascara. You brush on the mascara like normal then use the tapered end to get all those pesky inner and outer lashes that usually get missed. I thought this sounded pretty amazing till I used it on my hard to reach lashes and ugh those ends just get stuck to each other. I think it's pretty good at lengthening and ok with volume. I liked it but like I said those pesky hairs just get all funky. Benefit They're Real! retails for $22 at Sephora and Ulta.

Finally, Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara. I've been using and loving this mascara for about two years now. It is the perfect balance of length, volume, and separation. The brush is big very similar to Benefit's Bad Gal lash, which use to be my favorite! Unforunetly my tube is getting a little dry so these pictures don't show how impressive this mascara really is! But if you look through my first few make up posts you'll see. Revlon Grow Lucious retails at Walgreens locations for $7.99, $5.99 with free shipping on the website. Walgreens typically has BOGO or BOG1/2 off.
I hope all of you found this informative!!
It's Friday!
