I Love Matte

Wet n Wild came out with a 2011 holiday Walgreens exclusive palette called I <3 Matte. It's an 8 pan palette and entirely matte! Some stores may still have it in stock and if so it retails for $4.99. Shadows are swatched over Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

Shadows are swatched left to right exactly in the order they are in the palette. Build up was surprisingly easy and smooth. I have yet to use this palette in a look but I can't wait to use it. The only matte shadows I have are my Inglots and most palettes come with a black. It's nice having some new colors to add to my matte collection. Were you able to get this palette? What are your thoughts? To get off topic for a bit, I love Disney! My old tv has a built in VCR player so I'm watching 101 Dalmations. I have found my spirit animal, lol. Rolly, the chubby pup who's forever hungry! What's your favorite Disney movie? Mine is a tie, Beauty and the Beast and Alice in Wonderland! Have a great night Blogerettes.

Duped

Zoya did some amazing flash promos for the month of December and I was one of the many who could not catch a break, lol. Though I love the brand I typically don't purchase from their site unless they have an amazing deal. One of my biggest lemmings is Ivanka, a beautiful green sparkle. I decided to play around with my stash to see if I could either layer or franken a dupe. After some practice I found the perfect layering combo! One layer of OPI Gargantuan Green Grape Matte with two layers of Orly Halley's Commit. To make this even more obnoxious, lol, I added a layer of Essie Shine of the Times.

This combo was very bright because of GGG being a base while Halley's Commit brought the sparkle. I think this combo was a great way to end December 2011. I hope everyone isn't too hungover today. I was way to sick from my flu to do anything more than take my cold medicine and eat soup. More napping is definitely in my future, lol.

Iconic

Forever and a day ago I purchased my first Cult Nails polish, Iconic. I quickly swatched it and didn't look at it again until last week, lol. I saw a random post on Tumblr of someone wearing Iconic on top of a red base coat and knew it was time to try it once again. My 'red underwear' for this look was Color Club VooDoo You Do from the Back to Boho collection.
Shamelessly posting this weird shot because it almost looks like Clarins 230, lol!
It was gorgeous and perfectly festive without being too 'corny'. I definitely prefer Iconic with some underwear as opposed to alone. Iconic is a maroon shimmer with flakies that reflect red/green/orange/gold. She can be purchased over at Cult Nails for $10. I hope everyone has a safe and memorable New Years Eve! I don't really believe in making resolutions but every year I say I'm going to lose weight, lol. This year I just want my dad to be healthy and for Zombri to stop being so tubby, haha!
See you next year!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics

It's been quite a few months since Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics released their Pretty Boy Collection. My favorite thing about this brand is everything, right down to their brushes, are 100% vegan. I previously ordered a few of their Lip Tars, which are lipsticks built like gloss. The tiniest bit covers your lips with zero smudging or feathering when used properly. Anywho, after seeing previews from Temptalia I knew I needed to have their loose pigment in Jubilee, Lip Tar in Narcissus, and nail polish in Pool Boy. In a few short days these babies were MINE!
Pool Boy is the most amazing blue neon creme I have ever seen. This polish literally glows! I received a lot of compliments when I wore this and you bet I stretched out the wear time well over a week, lol. No streaking when applied and no chipping after all that wear time. Very impressed.
Jubilee appears as a baby blue in the jar but when applied dry without a base you can see it's actually a beautiful green/blue/purple duochrome. Definitely original! On my eye Jubilee was applied with a damp brush to give it a more 'solid' appearance.
The flash from my camera totally washed out Jubilee but trust me it is very vibrant! I am wearing Narcissus Lip Tar and Pool Boy on my nails. Narcissus applied a bit streaky and I had to blend it a bit before it looked ok. I did not have this issue with my other lip tars. It's a very bright, chalky pink really a very lovely shade.
And you'll notice this is 'prebangs', lol. I was very happy with my purchase and hope to get more from this collection. The only thing that makes me hesitate, as always, are the prices. But you are paying for quality! Pigments retail at $12, Lip Tars $13, and Polish $8 at Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.
