Heart Breaker Review

Hey Bloggerettes! I was super excited when Sugarpill announced they were making a third eyeshadow palette as part of their Heart series. Heart Breaker has four bright matte shades; Acidberry a neon chartreuse, Velocity a bright navy blue, 2am a bright red based purple, and Mochi a mint shimmer. The formula of this palette is not as opaque or smooth as the colors featured in the Burning Heart and Sweetheart palettes. With a good base the colors really shine.

The back of Heart Breaker's packaging.
Heart Breaker's front flip cover. When opened the otherside is a mirror.
Clockwise; Acidberry, Velocity, 2am, and Mochi.
The top half has no base, bottom half is Urban Decay Primer Potion; Acidberry, Velocity, 2am, and Mochi.

As you can see when no base is used the colors are chalky. This is easily remedied with a good base like Urban Decay Primer Potion. I also really like using Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk for these colors. Along with Heart Breaker I picked up a pair of Saint eyelashes for a sweet $5! Cheaper than the lashes at drug stores and much better quality.

I did a quick look using Mochi and Saint eyelashes after I received the palette. I'm also wearing Dollipop eyeshadow for blush! Other shadows used are from Urban Decay Naked 2 palette which I picked up the day before.

As a huge fan of all things Sugarpill and Shrinkle I am pretty happy with Heart Breaker and Saint lashes. When I do my make up I always use a base so it doesn't bother me that the shadows are less than stellar otherwise. I definitely plan on trying more lashes in the future as well as getting another pair of Saint. Heart Breaker is currently in stock for $34, $5 shipped.

Asylum

I had been wanting to place another order for Sugarpill for a long time but kept putting it off due to funds.  But when Amy from Sugarpill posted that they got these new super cute stickers in stock I knew it was time, lol. I picked up the big kittie sticker and Chromalust Shadow in Asylum. Asylum is a gorgeous metallic orange red. It packs on pretty good when dry but when applied wet, that's when the real magic starts.

Dry on the bottom, wet on top.
Left dry, Right wet.

Love it! I've been using it as a liner too, sorry I didn't take a picture of that. It's such a cool color to work with. Asylum retails for $12 at Sugarpill.

It's Alive!!!!

Happy Halloween Blogerettes! I hope everyone had a pleasant and spooky weekend! I come baring most excellent news...we were officially approved for our apartment today. Squee, I cannot wait to finally have much needed space to do more nails, make up, reviews, and the like. Now, back to business. I told myself for the longest time that I would not even think about purchasing China Glaze It's Alive because I was so in love with Zombie Zest from last years Halloween collection. But nail polish is addicting and that beautiful murky glitter green was eventually a part of my collection. It's Alive is easily a part of my top ten favorite nail polishes of all time. It isn't a hungry glitter and once top coat is applied the sparkle is so intense. To avoid doing more than two coats, therefor not making removal an epic pain, I decided to layer it over Color Club Nouveau Vintage. N.V. is a beautiful green/brown/bronze duochrome.
Flash to show off the bronze deliciousness with a hint of green. 2 coats Nouveau Vintage.
Show off more of the green undertones.
Two coats of It's Alive over Nouveau Vintage.
So much green love! On Saturday night my boyfrann and I went to a Halloween party. He dressed as John Goodman's character in The Big Lebowski and at the last minute I decided to do a quickie sugar skull look. Here's a quick cell phone shot of my make up!
Nothing too spectacular. All makeup is Sugarpill and all the black liner is Inglot gel liner in 77. Check out my uber hot Betsey Johnson necklace! Now I think I will nap on this fine Halloweenie day! Stay safe out there!

Goldilux

With my crazy work schedule I rarely have time to do makeup let alone bright makeup. So when I get to close you better believe I bust out my Sugarpill, lol. This look features Sugarpill's Chromalust pigment in Goldilux, the brightest most intense gold you'll ever find/need/want. Goldilux was applied wet with my handy dandy eyedrops. I also used my Urban Decay Naked Palette and The Black Palette. My liner is Inglot gel liner in 77, a matte black. Also featured are my awful Rodney Dangerfield blue contacts, lol. I'm too busy buying 'unnecessary' things to get better contacts.

I really want to place another order soon. Junebug and Magpie chromalusts are calling my name! What do you think about Sugarpill?

You buried the stars underground, you've stolen the night.

MMM, new Mastodon just happened to me. I know none of you know who they are, just know they make me just as happy as make up and nail polish do! Here's the brightest look I have ever done! Fun fact, I did this look for a date night with my boo but I spent most of the night on the bathroom floor sick. Yeah, no more drinking, lol. This is Sugarpill Dollipop all over the lid and crease. The liner is 1 layer of Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Electric, Inglot Matte 372, and NYX Crystal Liner in Crystal Jade.

I'm kind of ashamed to admit this but I spent that whole weekend watching the first season of Glee. Jenna Ushkowitz or Tina Cohen-Chang is so cute and I love her!lol. She definitely inspired this look. I don't know why I look so pale in these pictures but I'm starting to suspect I forgot to blush and bronze up.
Even Zombri's like...the fuck? Haha!

Call an optimist, she's turning blue.

Blue, in all variations, is perfect for a brown eyed girl such as myself. I wanted dramatic, I wanted dark, I needed blue! So I took out my trusted Sugarpill Royal Sugar and my beloved Inglot palette and got to work. This is Royal Sugar, Inglot AMC 70, D.S. 494, D.S. 493, and AMC 46 (my go to highlight).

I've been working hard on my makeup lately and kind of drifting from nails. Which makes me sad. It's easy for me to do makeup everyday but to work so hard on my nails just to wash it away with acetone so soon just seems so unnecessary. I know this blog started off as strictly nails but that's just unrealistic. How do you feel about this blog, what can make it better? I would love to get some imput!
