Bloggerettes, it's time for Holo Hump Day, another group mani. I used a new pair of earrings I bought on Etsy for inspiration. My base coat is 3 coats of Nic Stick's Rainbows End, a gold holo. Next I taped my triangles then applied a layer of Orly Fancy Fucshia, then 1 coat of China Glaze Strawberry Fields. Lastly for my triangle border LA Colors Blue Glitter. Rainbows End was incredibly difficult to work with because of the shoddy brush. You can see, especially on my pinkie, the dragging.
3 coats Rainbows End, no top coat.

The last picture is the completed mani with the earrings from Etsy. They aren't an exact match to the earrings but I am still happy with the end result. Don't forget to check out the other ladies Holo Hump Day manis!
I love this combo! It's super cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carly!
Deleteholo-y awesomeness!!!! i totally love this :D
ReplyDeletei didn't know they nics sticks came in a holo! i got a few for my little cousin who's starting out in polish, but they're really average colors that came in a set.
Thanks!! I believe Nic Sticks had only 2 holos, Rainbows End and Silver-ella. Both are super linear holos and gorgeous but the brushes drives me nuts, lol.
DeleteI totally bought Rainbow's End today because of your swatches! It's the most beautiful gold holo I've ever seen.... How wonky is the brush, though?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you were able to find it! It's one of the prettiest colors I have ever seen in person. I find most 'pen' polish brushes to be hard to work with, hair everywhere, thick, etc. I think if you were to do 2 coats, top coat, 1 more coat of color the brush strokes wouldn't have been as bad.
DeleteLove the mani! & Those earrings are so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!!
DeleteI love Rainbow's End, and those earrings are to DIE for!
ReplyDeleteBtw, I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award! http://beauty-ninja.blogspot.com/2012/06/versatile-blogger-award.html Enjoy! :)
Double thanks!!!
