Ole Blue Eyes

I'm still new to contacts. I mean it took years for me to actually get prescription glasses! Le boyfran suggested I try blue contacts, because the combination with black hair sounded FINE, lol. Now these are prescription contacts purchased at my local Valuvision and let me just say they suuuuuuuuck! Oh lawd! I haven't been posting lately because every picture makes me look like Rodney Dangerfield! These are the only pictures I have that look good but you will probably notice what I am talking about...

You see, no matter what my brown eyes peek through!

So no matter what angle, even straight on, the contacts would slightly be shifted so that they were never even. Such a waste of money, especially because I need contacts! They were also incredibly drying, bleh. Never again. Both looks were done using my first Inglot palette and the Urban Decay Naked palette. This week is already a bust which is more lame than usual as this Friday is my birthday! I will literally be going around Jacksonville getting anything free for birthdays lol. Haha, I'm getting old and bored! Also, I put in my 2 week notice at my new job today as I will be getting my old job back at Walgreens. I'm excited and sad about it but working for commission was keeping me in a consistent rut and was not worth it anymore. Lets hear it for new old beginnings!lol

Jealousy Wakes

When MAC Jealousy Wakes was first brought to my attention I knew I needed it. However I stopped buying MAC because I think they are just too expensive and lately I've been finding better quality make up for less. I've been following Temptalia, the blogger who created J.W., since the old days on LiveJournal when I was in highschool so I knew she would do us good by making her own eyeshadow. So when Jealousy Wakes came back in stock I immediately put that baby in my cart and it was mine!

Swatches L-R: No base, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk, Urban Decay liner in Electric.

Blue Eyes.
Brown Eyes.
Oh I love this color! It's smooth and super pigmented. The color flashes shades of blue, green, and teal. When applying a matte black shadow to line my eyes Jealousy Wakes changed the black to blue. Gorgeous! I am so happy MAC restocked it because this was sold out quickly. MAC still has Jealousy Wakes in stock for $15 right now. I believe the code TXT is still available to use for free shipping!

Turned Up

Turned Up Turquoise from China Glaze is my new love! It applies like a dream. All I needed was 2 even coats. She dries matte, or rather suede as there is some shimmer. But once I applied Seche Vite, oh my she was beautiful! Also I'm trying to test out watermarking my photos and I'm not sure how I feel about this site yet, Picnik. Anyone know of a better site that I can try?

Oh and here's my failicure! When I bought Turned Up Turquoise I picked up another lemming, Orly Purple Crush. I had the perfect mani in my head but it definitely did not transfer to my nails, lol.
Also please see exhibit A as to why I do not want children! They just don't know how to take care of precious gems such as polish! I guess my niece just got tired and didn't think to screw the cap back on...
Yes this is what happens to crackle polish when the top isn't screwed at all! What the frick? Lol. Now I can't find this polish anywhere and I just don't want to pay for another polish when I shouldn't have to. Le sigh. R.I.P. Black Mesh, we had some good times.

But there's something about her long shady eyes...

I know this is long, looong over due as I promised this quite some time ago. To be honest I took several pictures and what not, then friggin' forgot which was which!lol. I'm reviewing my three current favorite mascaras Lorac Multiplex 3D Lashes, Revlon Grow Luscious, and Benefit They're Real.
First up is Lorac. As you can see mine is a mini tube. The brush is made of rubber bristles similar to the Cover Girl's Lash Blasts and Benefit's They're Real. It is slightly curved and fits perfectly on my lash line and up. It's great for length but volume wise I haven't noticed anything special. However, I've definitely been picking this up more than the other 2 as of lately. A normal sized tube of Lorac 3D Multiplex Lashes retails for $22 at Sephora and Ulta.
Next up is Benefit's They're Real Mascara. Yes, another mini tube. This mascara recently launched earlier this month I believe. It's claim to fame is that it gives your lashes the appearance of false lashes, hence the name. The brush is rubber bristle's similar to Lorac's Multiplex 3D Lashes with a twist of Loreal's Telescopic Explosion Mascara. You brush on the mascara like normal then use the tapered end to get all those pesky inner and outer lashes that usually get missed. I thought this sounded pretty amazing till I used it on my hard to reach lashes and ugh those ends just get stuck to each other. I think it's pretty good at lengthening and ok with volume. I liked it but like I said those pesky hairs just get all funky. Benefit They're Real! retails for $22 at Sephora and Ulta.

Finally, Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara. I've been using and loving this mascara for about two years now. It is the perfect balance of length, volume, and separation. The brush is big very similar to Benefit's Bad Gal lash, which use to be my favorite! Unforunetly my tube is getting a little dry so these pictures don't show how impressive this mascara really is! But if you look through my first few make up posts you'll see. Revlon Grow Lucious retails at Walgreens locations for $7.99, $5.99 with free shipping on the website. Walgreens typically has BOGO or BOG1/2 off.
I hope all of you found this informative!!
It's Friday!
